Mourners Mark Tsunami Anniversary

It has been a year since the Indian Ocean tsunami occurred, where over 200,000 people were killed. The disaster struck in places such as Sri Lanka, Thailand and Somalia, but the greatest of casualties happened in the Indonesian province of Aceh. Indonesian citizens gathered around in Banda Acech, the capital, to observe a moment of silence. Afterwards, a siren sounded, and the president paid homage to those who are still suffering from the repercussions of the tsunami. In Sri Lanka, ceremonies commemorated those who have been killed. People who attended the ceremonies included ordinary residents who lit oil lamps on beaches, government figures who made speeches, and priests who chanted blessings. Thailand also held similar observances, remembering the devastation that occurred at the coastline of Khao Lak. The tsunami affected around 1.5 million people in this country, and it would take years before the community is restored to its original condition.

I wish I had your acnruasse, my friend. North Korea seems more threatening than Iraq any day, and not just because I know your ole butt is too-close-for-comfort to the danger zone.To my mind, there are so many variables the nuclear capability being the most obvious. Why does Bush feel the need to bait North Korea when its obvious that they are as mule-headed as he is, and smarter, with less to lose? A scary fookin' combination of circumstances I'll buy ya a drink when it's all over and you're safe. OK?
