|Winter break has always been a time for students to relax and have fun. The two-week break allowed students to enjoy themselves without having to think about the homework and stress that comes with high school life. Most students stayed home and spent time with their friends, while others traveled to different places around the world.
A favorite vacation spot for students includes ski resorts. People often lodge in a resort with a group of friends or family. “I went to Breckenridge, Colorado with my grandma, aunt, and cousins,” said Alexandra. “We have a townhouse out there, so our family goes there all the time-even during the spring and summertime. We usually stay there for a long time with my whole family. Over winter break, we just go skiing, and it’s really fun,” said Joyce.
Other students went on trips that took them halfway across the world. While on vacation, many students enjoyed playing extreme sports. Dahl traveled to New Zealand over break. “I went bungee jumping and skydiving. It was amazing. I can’t really use any other words to describe it,” said Dahl.
Europe is also a popular destination among students. With numerous opportunities for sightseeing, students enjoyed visiting the buildings and monuments. Many even spend Christmas or New Year’s Eve in a foreign country. One of these students is Deady, who spent her vacation in Paris. “Out of all the places that we visited, the Louvre was definitely my favorite because of all the artwork,” said Deady.
Whether it’s traveling within the fifty states or visiting a country thousands of miles away, Central students have always found ways to make their winter vacation more exciting.
